Hey y’all!

Here we are—the final week of August, the transition into fall, and the subsequent change-of-season excitement. It’s happening! Today I am bringing you a roundup of my favorite store-bought snack essentials, so whether you’re headed to work or school, you’re fueling good! (On a side note, I apologize for the lack of “real recipes” as of late…all of that is changing in a big way on Sunday. Stay tuned!)

I’m a huge snacker. I’d rather have six smaller meals throughout the day instead of three huge ones, and if I’m not careful, those mid-morning and afternoon meals can turn into coffee shop cookies or office doughnuts. To combat this, I try to pack/plan my meals as often as possible. And even though I LOVE cooking, sometimes, it’s nice to treat myself to one of these brand’s delectable snacks. I focused on snacks that suit a variety of cravings while still being high in protein/nutrients and low in sugar/other junk.

Let’s get snacking!

chewy and sweet: LÄRABARMy favorite thing about these bars is that I definitely could make them myself if I tried. It’s surprising how a few simple, unprocessed ingredients can create the perfect energy bar. These fruit-and-nut based bars are perfect for tossing in a bag to curb those sugar cravings without the crash. My current favorite flavors: Cashew Cookie and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip!

salty and crispy: Harvest SnapsConfession: I’m low key obsessed with these. Basically, they’re the pulse (the UN’s Food of the Year!) form of chips—either peas, lentils, or black beans. They’re low calorie, high in protein, and come in a variety of flavors–from Tomato Basil to Mango Chili Lime. Definitely think that if I was a kid, I would have eaten my veggies a LOT faster like this.

crunchy and sweet: KIND Granola ClustersGranola is one of those foods that can secretly be bad for you—but KIND keeps all of its products notoriously clean. One serving of their Peanut Butter Protein, for example, has a whopping 10g of protein and only 8g of sugar! Also, who doesn’t love peanut butter??

creamy and nutty: Justin’s Almond ButterIf given the right opportunity, I could easily devour an ENTIRE jar of nut butter—almond, peanut, cashew, you name it! Unfortunately, there is such thing as too much of a good thing, which is why these individual packets are so handy! Pair with a piece of your favorite fruit for a snack that will power you through anything!

dark and chocolatey: barkTHINS Snacking ChocolateThere’s really no way to get around a chocolate craving, and when it hits, you’d better be ready. Fortunately, these bites satiate even the most voracious sweet spot. Pairing dark chocolate with another component like pumpkin seeds, coconut or almonds really helps to bring out the natural sweetness of chocolate without a ton of added sugar.barkTHINS_almond.bag
