Hey y’all!

This Friday feels less like a rip-roaring victory celebration and more like a slow, desperate crawl to the finish line. It’s been a week, y’all. Expect to find me at any free point I have this weekend curled up in blankets and making no social contact whatsoever.

Anyways…let’s pull ourselves together for a few things from this week (read: let me pull myself together until 5PM).

One. Because if you haven’t seen it yet, and should: Beyoncé’s Formation. SLAY QUEEN, SLAAYYYYYY.635904757695176411-Beyonce-Formation-2Two. If you’re looking for your next great read or are a twenty-something trying to figure it all out, take a second and read my interview with Eric Deems for this week’s Power of One Wednesday. He’s a recent Belmont grad who’s doing exceptionally well in the real world, and he’s got some great insight to share.

Three. Some good thoughts from my friend Nicole on being single this Valentine’s Day: Someday My Prince Will Come…Or Will He?

Four. Ash Wednesday began this week, and I’ve been following along with this daily devotional from She Reads Truth! It’s not too late to hop on and commit to being mindful during this season of reflection, repentance, and redemption.SRT-Lent-Instagram1sFive. Last week I had the chance to visit a six year old named Colton at Erlanger Children’s Hospital. Yesterday was his birthday, so I asked all of my friends and family to send him cards. I know that I post about Children’s Miracle Network a lot, but I want you to take a second and look at the joy on that face. That’s why I do what I do. That’s why, no matter how doubtful I am that I can balance being a college student, employee, blogger and Miss Nashville all at once, I remember that it’s worth it. Thank you to those of you who took the time to make an impact in this sweet boy’s life.943935_10153315880276603_1843550775737110553_n

Wishing you a rest and peace-filled weekend,

Jeanette
