I am finally HOME for the holidays! I could not be more excited to have a few weeks of rest and relaxation, especially with Christmas right around the corner.
As I look over the semester, I still can’t believe that I have the incredible opportunity of serving as Miss Nashville. It’s been a whirlwind few months and I can’t wait to start preparing for Miss Tennessee! I had a funny idea to combine my experience with my favorite Christmas movie, and, well, here’s what happened.
Pageants, as explained by Elf. Enjoy.
When you decide that YOU’RE FINALLY GOING TO COMPETE AGAIN!!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve competed in a pageant, so when I made the big decision, you better believe I was amped.
When you try your best to predict the judges’ interview questions:
Please. If only it were that easy.
When you’re supposed to go on a 4 mile run and are coming up with excuses:
No amount of clothes will make me want to run anywhere.
When your fitness coach needs to give you some tough love:
Yes, I know I didn’t do my run. No, I didn’t eat ice cream for dinner last night. Okay, maybe I did.
When you’re trying to sneak in extra workouts in whatever you do:
How many calories can I burn by watching Netflix?
How you think you’re going to look when you get on stage:
When you’re warming up for the talent competition:
When you get asked about an important political figure in interview:
All that studying current events was worth it, huh?
When you’re feeling proud of yourself (no matter what happens):
Yes girl, you deserve it.
Day After Pageant Feels:
Eat all the things. No lie: I had pizza every day for a week after Miss Nashville.
When people ask you how you could possibly smile that big all the time:
When you have a dream that you overslept for an appearance:
Worst. Feeling. Ever.
When I hear people talking about how being a titleholder is just “looking pretty”:
Tell that to the millions of dollars Miss America titleholders have raised and the thousands of hours they’ve put in towards their platforms. We’re more than just a pretty face.
When you’re asked to perform at a public event:
Store opening? 5K? Parade? No matter the situation, you gotta sing, and you’ve DEFINITELY got to own it.
When you really want to hang out with your director but they’re busy:
You’re like my best friend now. Why aren’t we spending 24/7 together?
When you’re super friendly to everyone you meet:
The world isn’t full of strangers; it’s just friends you haven’t made yet.
When you’re super thankful to your family and friends for putting up with all of your crowned shenanigans:
I wouldn’t be who I am today without the incredible support of my family and friends. You all inspire and push me every day to be the best person I can be. Thanks for being such a huge influence in my life.
Well, that’s all I’ve got, folks! Hope it was able to bring a smile to your face!
Enjoy your weekend!
