Good morning, everyone!
I can’t believe it’s Friday already! Last time this week, was dreaming of all things carb-filled, and this Friday, I’m proud to say that I have eaten pizza every single day this week.
Every. Single. Day. I think that deserves some kind of award.
Anyways, here’s a few thoughts about this week:
One. What do you do when you’ve got a spare box of Funfetti cake mix and frosting lying around? Make cake balls, of course! This is definitely on the weekend to-do list.
Two. I have this article from Thought Catalog saved in my bookmarks under “When You Need Reminding.” We live in a transient world. Learn to hold things lightly and treasure them well.
Three. I’m learning to embrace becoming a morning person. After all, the sun sets at around 4:30 here in Nashville, which is not a lot of daylight! If you’re looking to have a great morning, let me suggest waking up at 6:15 or so, making yourself a steaming cup of coffee or tea, and finding a good quiet spot to watch the sun warm everything up. Those little moments of stillness are everything to me.
Four. For those of you who have asked, this article from the New York Times was the basis for the answer to my onstage question at Miss Nashville. The Second Amendment is as much a privilege as it is a right, and we need to be aware of who we are entrusting that to.
Five. Hey! I’m your new Miss Nashville, and that’s really exciting. My goal this year is to do something every day to serve my city, even in a small way. If you’ve got an opportunity where you could use some help, feel free to comment or send me a message! Some of my skills: baking, singing, frequently using really bad puns, and eating too much chocolate.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
