Hey what’s up hello?
Once again, I seem to have mysteriously disappeared for a few weeks. And it’s true. I have. I think we’re all entitled to a little off-the-radar time, and it found its way to me one way or another. I hope you’ll give yourself some of the same space this weekend.
One. I got to go to the Smokies last weekend (probably a great excuse for not blogging). All I can say is that they were breathtaking and it was chilly at the top and I felt very small indeed. Also, there’s nothing like mountain air to clear a cloudy head.Two. My world has been painfully absent of both sugar and carbs. This next week, I’m treating myself. Go big or go home, right? These Double Chocolate Cake Doughnuts from my girl Joy seem like just the thing.
Three. Powerful quote by Fredrick Buechner that keeps coming to the forefront of my mind: “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” Ruminate on that a little.
Four. I wrote this article about treehouses (random, but fun!) the other day and I am still dreaming of waking up in one of them. Especially the ones in Sweden. Talk about the BEST VACATION EVER.
Five. Needed to hear this TED talk by Brené Brown on the power of vulnerability again. Putting yourself out there is hard, but it’s the only way that life’s worth it. There’s something beautiful in being able to unapologetically be yourself. It’s a goal I’m working towards day by day.
Blessings and peace to you this weekend!
